I have had long friendships with ODs and MDs. I know we have a fear of medical people - or fear of doing anything on our own. We fear change.
So - when a person suggests that you look at a good Snellen (naked eye - lines marked), what do you do? I find that virtually no one will look
at a Snellen, and that is the truth.
So, let me post two videos. EndMyopia, described the minus as dangerous, and a bad idea. The OD will describe Jakes discussion as
so much anti-scientific psycho-babble. This is about 15 minutes - but worth listening to.
Here is the optometrist's OPINION, who will described Jake as variously, demented, deluded, anti-scientific, no foundation in science, we do not know "what else to do", the public will never accept personal prevention, etc.
My question, how can some totally sincere people, be so totally blind about prevention? Is Jake right? Is the OD right?
Personally, I limit what I say to people who can make their own choice - with a mild prescription. it is all up to you - but listen
to both videos - and YOU DECIDE.
