Is +1 too undercorrected to wear?
« on: March 25, 2015, 06:49:35 PM »
I recently got a pair of glasses from zenni optical. I ordered them with +1 added to my prescription. I really underestimated how undercorrected +1 would be. My prescription is -3.50 and the glasses are -2.50. Is this too much undercorrection to wear constantly?

Well, VA kinda depends on the individual, but me for example, a -1 lense gets my left eye to sharp 20/20 in indoor light, but without the lense my left eye is around 20/60 which is very annoying. I assume you'll have around 20/60 vision which is ok for most things. Seeing things in medium distance will be tough tho, and lets not talk about driving.

I would suggest an undercorrection if 0.5 , which will give you about 20/40 in dim lights , and 20/30 in bright light

@ ultraviolet
The above are good for far viewing. For near work you will need about +2D undercorection. It repents on the distance. For computer use you might need +1D or +1,5D added to your refractive state.
