Dear Friends,
Yes, some people are successful with a combination of "better habits", the plus, and an independent mind. Here are some remarks by Jake - that I totally support. The picture is of a trial-lens frame.
http://endmyopia.org/went-to-see-optometrist-for-new-contact-lenses/I personally would never get, or wear a contact lens (except for an emergency). The idea is (with 20/40 to 20/60 vision), to stop wearing a minus lens, if at all possible.
The other issue is astigmatism, or "cyl." All natural eyes have a small degree of astigmatism. Yes people PANIC when they are told they are "astigmatic". I always insist that it is not necessary, (below -1.25 D of it.) Here is how complex it is to prescribed - for something that is not necessary, and a simple spherical lens is far better. Here is a 15 minute video - if you care to sit though it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITjaOU9k2FcThis is why I just get my own spherical lenses, and my own Snellen, to measure my OWN REFRACTION. I can do it in about 10 minutes.
For the record, at this time. 20/20 to 20/15, both eyes. Refraction? Measured at +1/2 to +3/4 diopters, both eyes.
This is indeed almost perfect vision - but I would never use the word that way.
