End Myopia, the OD, and un-necessary Astigmatism Measurement.

Dear Friends,

Yes, some people are successful with a combination of "better habits", the plus, and an independent mind.  Here are some remarks by Jake - that I totally support.  The picture is of a trial-lens frame.

I personally would never get, or wear a contact lens (except for an emergency). The idea is (with 20/40 to 20/60 vision), to stop wearing a minus lens, if at all possible.

The other issue is astigmatism, or "cyl."  All natural eyes have a small degree of astigmatism. Yes people PANIC when they are told they are "astigmatic".  I always insist that it is not necessary, (below -1.25 D of it.)  Here is how complex it is to prescribed -  for something that is not necessary, and a simple spherical lens is far better.  Here is a 15 minute video - if you care to sit though it.

This is why I just get my own spherical lenses, and my own Snellen, to measure my OWN REFRACTION.  I can do it in about 10 minutes.

For the record, at this time.  20/20 to 20/15, both eyes.  Refraction?  Measured at +1/2 to +3/4 diopters, both eyes.

This is indeed almost perfect vision - but I would never use the word that way.

Learn to make your own Snellen measurements.

You will be more intelligent and effective if you know how to do this.  You can also understand the problem from the
position of an optometrist.
