I have had long friendships with ODs and MDs. I know we have a fear of medical people - or fear of doing anything on our own. We fear change.
So - when a person suggests that you look at a good Snellen (naked eye - lines marked), what do you do? I find that virtually no one will look
at a Snellen, and that is the truth.
So, let me post two videos. EndMyopia, described the minus as dangerous, and a bad idea. The OD will describe Jakes discussion as
so much anti-scientific psycho-babble. This is about 15 minutes - but worth listening to. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WdrW3yMKUQ
Here is the optometrist's OPINION, who will described Jake as variously, demented, deluded, anti-scientific, no foundation in science, we do not know "what else to do", the public will never accept personal prevention, etc.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjdkbcOx05A
My question, how can some totally sincere people, be so totally blind about prevention? Is Jake right? Is the OD right?
Personally, I limit what I say to people who can make their own choice - with a mild prescription. it is all up to you - but listen
to both videos - and YOU DECIDE.
